The main performance parameters of a water pump include flow rate, head, speed, efficiency, power, and conveying medium. The water pump transfers the mechanical energy of the motor or other external energy to the liquid, ensuring that the energy of the liquid can continuously increase. Water pumps can be used to transport water, emulsions, oily media, etc. The impeller of the water pump can be made of stainless steel or cast iron material according to the conveying medium. There are many reasons for pump impeller failure, and the most common one is that the impeller has experienced normal mechanical wear after long-term use. The repair method for pump impeller failure is to replace the impeller that has been worn for a long time.
1. Causes of water pump impeller failure
(1) It is very likely that the inlet water quality of the pump is poor, and there are many impurities in the pump.
(2) The filter screen of the faucet or the water inlet horn is located close to or in the sediment.
(3) The solid particles in the medium pumped by the water pump are relatively high, and the impeller is not selected correctly.
(4) The long-term or frequent loosening of the pump impeller nut can cause the impeller to loosen and experience eccentric wear.
(5) The long-term operation of the water pump under cavitation conditions has increased the degree of damage caused by cavitation.
2. Maintenance methods for pump impeller faults
(1) Inspect the inlet water quality of the water pump, and use air compressors or other equipment to improve the water quality or add pollution barriers to improve the water quality based on the inspection results.
(2) Raise the faucet filter screen of the water pump or lift the inlet horn to ensure that they can remove sediment. Normally, it is advisable to be at least 1 meter away from the bottom of the well and not less than 0.5 meters.
(3) Open the pump body to check the gap between the sealing ring, the installation position and quality of the impeller, whether the positioning key of the impeller moves, whether the locking nut is loose or detached, and whether the gap between the impeller and the pump casing meets the specified requirements. Identify the situation and repair, adjust or replace it. Reassemble the water pump according to the requirements. During the assembly of the water pump, it is necessary to ensure the accuracy of the water pump installation.
(4) Open the pump body to check the wear and fixation of the impeller. Users need to regularly replace the impeller with wear-resistant materials to extend the service life of the pump impeller.
(5) To eliminate the cause of cavitation and improve the anti cavitation performance of the water pump, the installation height of the water pump can be reduced according to the situation, and the correct installation height needs to be calculated.
