Control Requirements For Fire Fighting Pumps

Apr 11, 2025

Control requirements for fire pumps:

1. The fire pump should be ensured to start within 30 seconds after a fire alarm and should not automatically stop after starting.

2. Each fire hydrant in the temporary high-pressure indoor fire hydrant water supply system should be equipped with a button to directly start the fire hydrant water supply pump; The high-pressure indoor fire hydrant water supply system should be activated by the pressure linkage device of the fire pressure stabilization system to start the fire hydrant water supply pump.

3. The temporary high-pressure automatic sprinkler fire extinguishing system is activated by the pressure switch linkage of the alarm valve group to start the sprinkler water supply pump. The stable high-pressure automatic sprinkler fire extinguishing system should be activated by the pressure linkage device of the sprinkler pressure stabilization system to start the sprinkler water supply pump.

4. The fire control room should be able to directly start and stop the operation of the fire pump.

5. The fire pump room should be able to manually start and stop the operation of the fire pump.

The pressure linkage device in the stable high-pressure system should be composed of grouped pressure switches.

7. Daily automatic inspection of fire pumps.

The fire pump is the heart of the fire water supply system. To prevent the long-term non operation of the fire pump from causing dry lubricating oil, seal packing plates, and rusting and jamming of rotating parts, its daily automatic inspection is highly valued by designers and users. Daily automatic inspection is divided into power frequency automatic inspection and low-frequency automatic inspection.
