Several Measures For The Safe Use Of Submersible Pumps

Jan 11, 2021

With the development of economy, submersible pumps play an increasingly important role in our daily production and life, and users are paying more and more attention to the safe use of submersible pumps. Below, I will share here the five precautions for the safe use of submersible pumps.

1. Pay attention to its model, flow and head when purchasing submersible pumps. If the selected specifications are not appropriate, sufficient water output will not be obtained and the efficiency of the unit will not be exerted. In addition, you should also know the direction of rotation of the motor. Some types of submersible pumps can produce water during forward and reverse rotation, but the water output is small and the current is large during reverse rotation. The reverse rotation will damage the motor windings. In order to prevent electric shock accidents caused by electric leakage when the submersible pump is working underwater, a leakage protection switch should be installed.

2. When installing the submersible pump, the cable should be overhead and the power cord should not be too long. When the unit is launched into the water, do not apply force to the cable to avoid breaking the power cord. Do not sink the submersible pump into the mud, otherwise it will cause poor heat dissipation of the motor and burn out the motor windings.

3. Try to avoid starting at low pressure. The power supply voltage and the rated voltage must not differ by 10%. Excessive voltage will cause the motor to overheat and burn out the submersible pump. If the voltage is too low, the motor speed will decrease. If it does not reach 70% of the rated speed, the start centrifugal switch will be closed, causing the start winding Long time energization will generate heat and even burn out windings and capacitors. Do not switch the motor frequently. This is because the submersible pump will produce backflow when it stops. If it is turned on immediately, the motor load will start, resulting in excessive starting current and burning of the windings.

4. Do not allow the submersible pump to run excessively for a long time, do not pump water with a large amount of sand, and the dehydration operation time of the electric pump should not be too long, so as to prevent the submersible pump motor from overheating and burning. During the operation of the unit, the operator must always observe whether the working voltage and current are within the values specified on the nameplate. If not, the motor should be stopped to find out the cause and eliminate the fault.

5. Check the motor more often. If cracks in the lower cover, damage or failure of the rubber seal ring, etc. are found, they should be replaced or repaired in time to prevent water penetration into the machine. Effective inspection of the submersible pump can better promote the service life of the low-flow high-lift submersible pump.

The above is the main method to ensure the safe use of submersible pumps. Users should not only consider quality and performance when purchasing submersible pump products, but also pay attention to daily maintenance during use, so as to extend the service life of submersible pump equipment.
