What Are The Characteristics Of Stainless Steel Corrosion-resistant Submersible Pumps

Nov 25, 2025

The submersible pump is a single-stage single suction vertical submersible centrifugal pump. The components that come into contact with the medium are selected from three materials based on the corrosion condition of the medium being transported:

1. 1Cr18Ni9Ti stainless steel pump.

2. HT20-40 cast iron pump.

3. ZL102 aluminum silicon alloy pump.

The stainless steel submersible pump adopts an immersion design, with the pump body submerged in the liquid in the storage tank, and the impeller installed at the end of the shaft to keep the rolling bearings away from the liquid. To prevent the upper parts from being corroded by the conveying medium, as the pump body is immersed in liquid, as long as the liquid level is higher than the pump body, it can be started without filling. The sealing design is reasonable and easy to use, and the underwater depth can be freely selected between 500mm and 3000mm.

Transmission and rotation direction of stainless steel submersible pump: The stainless steel submersible pump is directly driven by an electric motor through a claw type elastic coupling, and the pump rotates clockwise when viewed from the motor end.

This pump eliminates the mechanical seal commonly used in other submersible pumps and adopts a unique impeller structure, making the pump efficient, energy-saving, leak free, and long-lasting, thus widely used in industries such as petroleum, chemical, pharmaceutical, papermaking, metallurgy, and sewage treatment.

So what are the precautions for installing and using stainless steel corrosion-resistant submersible pumps?
1. After assembling the pump, rotate the coupling to see if it rotates flexibly, and check if there is any metal friction sound and if the nuts of each component are tightened.

2. Check the concentricity of the pump shaft and motor shaft. The difference between the outer circles of the two couplings should not exceed 0.1mm, and the gap between the end faces of the two couplings should be maintained at 1-2.5mm.

3. The distance between the suction port of the pump and the bottom of the container is 2-3 times the suction port diameter, and the distance between the pump body and the container wall is greater than 2.5 times the port diameter.

4. The outlet pipeline of the pump should be supported by a separate bracket, and its weight is not allowed to be supported on the pump.

5. Check the rotation direction of the motor to ensure that the pump rotates in the indicated direction.

6. Close the gate valve and pressure gauge on the outlet pipeline, and connect the cooling water pipe.

7. Start the motor, turn on the pressure gauge, slowly open the outlet pipe gate valve to the desired position, and put it into normal operation.

8. Regularly check the condition of the pump and motor, the temperature rise of the bearings should not exceed 75 ℃, and sufficient butter should be added to the bearing box.
