The control and starting devices of submersible pumps are mainly divided into four types according to their functions and requirements: direct starting device, Y-shaped star delta pressure reducing starting device, autotransformer pressure reducing starting device, and variable frequency pressure reducing starting device. The following will introduce the functional characteristics of each starting device one by one.
1. Directly start the device
The direct starting device is suitable for low-power submersible motors and submersible electric pumps. The starting device consists of components such as contactors and relays, which can protect the submersible motors and submersible electric pumps from abnormal operating conditions such as overload, phase failure, locked rotor, and undervoltage during operation. It can also be equipped with protections such as stator winding overheating.
2. Star delta starting device
The star angle voltage reducing starting device is also suitable for high-power submersible motors and submersible pumps. The starting device consists of two sets of contactors and relays, which can perform Y - △ voltage reduction starting on submersible motors and submersible pumps; It can also protect against abnormal operating conditions such as overload, phase failure, locked rotor, and undervoltage that occur during the operation of submersible motors and submersible pumps; The operation of the submersible electric pump can also be automatically controlled based on changes in liquid level or pressure; And it can be equipped with special protections such as stator winding overheating, bearing overheating, and water ingress into the motor or oil chamber.

3. Self coupling voltage reducing starting device
The autotransformer voltage reducing starting device is mainly suitable for high-power submersible motors and submersible pumps. In addition to components such as contactors and relays, the starting device is equipped with an autotransformer in the control panel, which can reduce the voltage starting of submersible motors and submersible pumps; It can protect against abnormal operating conditions such as overload, phase failure, locked rotor, and undervoltage generated during the operation of submersible motors and submersible pumps; Automatically control the operation of submersible electric pumps based on changes in liquid level or pressure; Wells can be equipped with special protections such as stator winding overheating, bearing overheating, and water ingress into the motor or oil chamber.
4. Variable frequency energy-saving control starting device
The submersible electric pump is powered by a variable pre speed regulation energy-saving device, which has the following advantages:
(1) The water supply system can operate automatically according to the water supply needs: after setting the water supply pressure, the water supply system will automatically adjust the speed and number of submersible pumps according to the set pressure, so that the water supply system can operate in an efficient and energy-saving optimized state.
(2) The water supply system can automatically adjust the water supply pressure to maintain a constant level, avoiding significant fluctuations in water supply pressure.

(3) The use of a frequency converter for soft starting eliminates the surge current during startup and extends the service life of the equipment.
(4) Complete protection function: The control device has multiple protections such as overload, overcurrent, locked rotor, overvoltage, overheating, etc. If there is a fault during the operation of the submersible pump, the control protection device will automatically stop the operation of the submersible pump and output an alarm; The system also has functions such as self checking, fault diagnosis, fault memory, fault display, and automatic starting of backup pumps.
