What Are The Selection Methods For Sewage Pumps

Apr 26, 2026

The basic parameters for selecting sewage pumps are caliber, flow rate, head, power, voltage, liquid, etc.
1. Select the appropriate sewage pump based on the discharge flow rate and the size and height of the conveying head.
2. Reasonably select sewage pumps according to different usage scenarios. For example, when transporting sewage with high sediment content, a sewage pump with good wear resistance should be selected; When used for transporting sewage or waste, the diameter of large particles passing through the sewage pump should be considered; When transporting corrosion-resistant media, it is necessary to consider using corrosion-resistant pumps; When transporting fiber materials, it is necessary to consider using a sewage pump with a cutting mechanism.
3. Choose single-phase or three-phase sewage pumps according to the different power sources used.
4. According to the usage requirements, it is decided whether to use an upper pump or a lower pump to drain the liquid completely.
5. Choose a suitable pump based on factors such as the price, quality, operating costs, and ease of installation and maintenance of the sewage pump.

6. On the premise of energy conservation and meeting usage requirements, choose a sewage pump with high efficiency, and operate the parameters of the selected sewage pump within the range of 0.7-1.2 times the rated flow rate.
7. Check whether the sewage pump has reliable grounding devices and safety protection devices to avoid affecting the safe use of the sewage pump.
8. When selecting, pay attention to checking the appearance of the pump, checking whether the sewage pump body and pump cover are damaged, whether the cables are damaged, whether there are corrosive agents on the surface of the pump, whether the bolts are loose, whether there are traces of leakage or water leakage, and also measure the cold insulation resistance with a megohmmeter. The installation standard stipulates that the cold insulation resistance should be above 50 megohms.
