What Are The Key Reasons For Safety Accidents Of Stainless Steel Submersible Electric Pumps in Deep Water Wells

Feb 11, 2026

(1) Lack of awareness of safety precautions and violation of the work norms for safety electrical maintenance and upkeep of electrical equipment. This is also the global cause of safety accidents in this type of pump casing.

(2) Not very familiar with knowledge and skills, and improper use. This is also the direct cause of safety accidents in this type of pump casing.

After discussing several common faults in electric shock accidents, it will be found that the vast majority of electric shock accidents are caused by the following factors:

(1) No common faults such as cable wires or leaks were detected before operation;

(2) Bare wires are randomly grounded, and operators do not wear insulation layers, weapons, equipment, insulation tools, and other protective equipment;

(3) When working in high humidity conditions such as rain, snow, or water, do not take appropriate safety measures. Work immediately;

(4) Using a power plug as a load-bearing rope to damage the sealing function of the stainless steel submersible pump junction box in the deep water well, causing power failure;

(5) The power socket is directly connected to the switch power supply without any device power switch or fuse.

What are the key issues to pay attention to for the switch power supply motor of stainless steel submersible electric pump

1. Grounding device treatment - Grounding protection for stainless steel submersible electric pumps is a mandatory requirement of national standards. If grounding protection is not implemented, once the casing loses power, it will cause the water and water quality at the pump casing drainage outlet to become electrified, posing a threat to personal safety and consuming a significant amount of electromagnetic energy. But if the grounding device is properly connected according to national standards, when the pump casing is short circuited, the current value will form a closed circuit through its casing, protective grounding wire, grounding body, land resources, transformer, and switch power supply. Once the leakage current is unstable, the protective equipment on the pump casing will take a protective position and disconnect the power supply of the power switch.

2. Equipment leakage protection switch - Most of these pump casings will work in water, and once electrified, it will inevitably lead to electromagnetic energy consumption and even cause safety accidents. If a leakage protection switch is installed, if the discharge value of the pump casing exceeds the preset position value of the leakage protection device, the protection device will disconnect the switch power supply.

3. The current condition of the power supply after startup - both too high and too low current can cause the pump casing to overheat, reduce the operating time, and even damage the pump casing. Rural areas are more susceptible to low voltage power lines due to their relatively long length, low voltage at the end of the line, and excessive current at the beginning. Therefore, during the use of stainless steel submersible pumps, the operator must check the power supply current value anytime and anywhere. If it exceeds ± 10% of the rated current or the current value exceeds 20% of the rated voltage, it is necessary to shut down in a timely manner.
