Due to the many advantages of submersible sewage pumps themselves and pump stations that use submersible sewage pumps, the global demand will continue to grow in the future, with the following main development trends.
1. Develop large and medium-sized submersible electric pumps. Previously, a large sewage treatment plant required the installation of multiple submersible sewage pumps to ensure its sewage discharge capacity. Now, the flow rate of sewage pumps can reach several thousand cubic meters per hour, and axial flow pumps can reach tens of thousands of cubic meters, which only requires a few units to meet.

2. Develop multifunctional and multi-purpose applications. Compared with foreign submersible pump manufacturers, the form of submersible pumps in China is not yet good enough, such as pumps with cutting devices and submersible pumps for pumping highly corrosive media. For example, the production of ultra light and high flow submersible sewage pumps is still rare, but their market demand is high, so they have good development prospects.
3. Developing high reliability mechanical seals. Mechanical seals are a key part of submersible pumps, using two single end mechanical seals so that the pressure of the medium can act on the end face and the leakage direction is internal flow. These are advantageous, but the structure is slightly more complex. Install double end mechanical seals in the oil chamber, and the two end faces should adopt different structural types to ensure that the pressure of the medium can act on the lower end face. Otherwise, relying solely on the spring force, the reverse thrust of the sealing end face can easily open the end face. Therefore, further research should be conducted in terms of structure and materials to improve its reliability and lifespan.

4. New materials, new technologies, and new processes will gradually be applied to ordinary pumps. Stainless steel, fluoroplastic (F46), plastic lining, rubber lining, sprayed ceramics, etc. have already been used in ordinary pumps. All of these materials should be applied to submersible electric pumps as soon as possible to expand the application field of submersible pumps. The application of new technologies and processes such as computer-aided design, assisted manufacturing, and assisted testing is also imperative. It has been proven that the application of new technologies, materials, and processes not only liberates labor productivity, but also ensures stable and reliable product quality.
