Small submersible pumps have a small volume and light weight, and play an important role in many aspects. To avoid accidents during use, extend the service life, and fully utilize its excellent performance, manufacturers of small submersible electric pumps recommend paying attention to the following points when using:
1. Install leakage protector
Submersible pumps are prone to water leakage when working underwater, leading to power outages and even electric shock. If a leakage protector is installed, as long as the leakage power of the submersible pump exceeds a certain value (usually less than 30 mA), the leakage protector will cut off the power supply of the submersible pump to avoid leakage and energy waste, ensuring safety.
2. Correct installation method
When installing a submersible pump, the cables should be overhead and the power lines should not be too long. When launching or lifting a small submersible electric pump, do not pull the cable forcefully to prevent the power cord from breaking. Do not sink into the mud when the submersible pump is working, otherwise it will cause poor heat dissipation of the motor and burn out the motor winding. During installation, the insulation resistance of the motor should not be less than 0.5 megohms.

3. When the power supply voltage is abnormal, avoid starting the machine.
The power supply voltage should not differ from the rated voltage by 10%. If the voltage is too high, the motor will overheat and burn out the windings. If the voltage is too low, the motor speed will decrease. If the starting centrifugal switch is less than 70% of the rated speed, it will close, which will cause the starting winding to be energized for a long time, heat up, and even burn out the winding and capacitor.
4. Do not frequently turn on or off the motor.
This is because when the electric pump stops running, it will generate backflow. If started immediately, it will start the motor load, causing excessive starting current and burning out the winding.
5. Do not let the water pump run abnormally.
Do not let the pump run for a long time, do not pump water with high sediment content, and the dehydration operation time of the electric pump should not be too long to prevent the motor from overheating and burning out. During the operation of the unit, the operator shall observe at all times whether the working voltage and current are within the range specified on the nameplate. Otherwise, the motor should be stopped, the cause should be identified, and the fault should be eliminated. The rotation direction of the motor should be correct. It is necessary to find the direction of rotation of the motor. There are many types of submersible pumps that can produce water during forward and reverse rotation, but the water output is small and the flow rate is large during reverse rotation. If the commutation time is too long, it will damage the motor winding.
6. Maintain regularly.
Small submersible pump manufacturers recommend regularly checking the motor. If the lower cover is found to be damaged, the rubber seal ring is damaged or ineffective, etc. It should be replaced or repaired in a timely manner to prevent water from seeping into the submersible pump.
